SEE THE FASTEST GROWING COMMUNITY RADIO IN COAST PROVINCE.

One might have the anxiety of knowing which is the fast upcoming community radio in the coast region.The answer is Amani FM radio 88.1 Sauti ya Tana River.

Amani FM is a community radio launched on June 2017.It is based in Garsen town,Tana Delta Sub-County,Tana River.It is ran by Amani Center a community based Organization.

Its radius coverage is 70 kilometers within Tana Delta Sub-County and it's environment.It also covers some parts of Kilifi and Lamu.The radio station has an estimated audience of 180,000.

Due to the experienced tribal clashes on 2013 in Tana Delta,a need of a new way of bringing these two groups of people together arised.These are the Farmers and the Pastoralists.

The Director of Amani Center together with partners such as Amplifying Voices UK,The Sentinel Project Canada and Local Community members, came up with the idea of setting up a Community radio which would help the community air their views.

All this was to bring peace back in the area that experienced tribal violence. 

 Amani FM is managed by Community volunteers.The nearby people have decided to come together and make the radio station progress.

Apart from bringing peace in the community,this community radio is ensuring that the girl child in the area has the opportunity to stay in school all the time and concentrate with her studies.

The Radio Station with the help of well-wishers have taken the duty to give back to the community.They accumulate bags of sanitary towels from well-wishers and also cash which they use it to buy more bags and give them to school going girls.

All these programs are ran under the management of  Filikita Jilo.She was once a Radio Presenter  at Sayare Sauti ya Rehema in Eldoret,Fish FM also in Eldoret and Lulu FM which is located in Malindi.

Filikita Jilo is now the Manager of Amani FM in Garsen.
